Bajet yg pelik 2010

without comments

Dah lama aku tak update blog aku. Project skang dah abis then aku pulak skang dalam posisi unassigned. So maksudnya takde project and duduk office kira cicak kat dinding. Aku sedang membuat kalkulasi utk tender surat cinta pada minggu depan and sign LOE bersama company baru. Boss kat sini agak pissed off, mintak tempoh 7 hari lagi start next week. Tapi memang tak dapat laa aku nak tolon kali nih.

Ok tujuan nak bebel nih pasal budget yang orang dok kecoh. Rata2 gov servant bising pasal takde bonus. Aku tak sure ker ader bonus ker tak pasal aku tak amik port sangat pasal bonus tuh.

Cuma aku agak terkesima:

  • 72% utk mengurus? operating cost sampai 72%? Giler aper. Bagi pendapat aku tuh terlalu banyak. Nih bukan logik biasa yg mrk pakai nih. Kalo ko company yang bagus, ko akan try eliminate operating cost and tambah profit banyak2. Maybe ader orang pertikai gov lain cara handle, cuma aku yakin mrk tak paham maksud efficient
  • 27.8% utk pembangunan? wehh sikit nih.  Jauh sangat dengan budget mengurus.
  • Tambah IPTA? Bagus. Tapi kalo peluang pekerjaan kat luar sana tuh sikit, toksah laa tambah banyak sangat.

Aku dari dulu rasa GOV civil service size dia sangat la besar. Dengan budget nih nampak sangat cost pengurusan tuh utk tampong pekerja2 civil. Dengan tak nampak peluang pekerjaan sangat kat luar tuh, aku dapat rasakan makin banyak bebudak grad end up in G*V. Tambah lagi laa kos pengurusan utk tahun depan yer?

smart working…only for smart people kot

without comments

Currently I’m in the midst of changing my timezone from GMT 0 to GMT +8. Its really hard considering the gaps between these 2 timezone. Hopefully I’ll be able to smart working from home after new year.

Doing project with people from different timezone pose many problems and some say, there also implicit benefit. Since the only way time I could initiate direct communication with the UK guys is around 5pm and onwards malaysian time. Prior to that, the only communication medium on my disposal is only a mail. Just imagine U got stuck with problems and u have to wait till the end of day just to get the answer. Not so pragmatic. But this might work if u were lazy on that day and simply needed some reason to justify why U didn’t do ur work.

I learned something useful back in UK. Its called smart working. Since all of the development team disperse all around the world ( 4 in uk, and 1 sesat in Malaysia), smart working I think might be the best answer to work. My PM argument is why u need to come to office if all the other team member is not there? So I’ll be proposing this idea to my PM here so I can work from home. This should help me

  1. reducing pollution.
  2. Saving cost on fuel consumption and toll fee ( yess takde laa kaya sami and valu).
  3. extend the interval between services for my car maintenance.
  4. save budget on meal. Home cook is the best.
  5. no more dirty laundry for my office cloth
  6. spend more time with the people that I love the most.

But this indirectly

  1. there should be extra cost on electric bill and other utilities bill.
  2. inconsistent in productivity. Too many distraction back at home.
  3. higher bandwidth usage. Since I need to use VPN to connect.

Maybe smart working is the new trend/ hype in these coming recession days. Everybody trying to save every single little pence/sen they have.

save money…or spend it wisely

without comments

Secara jujur aku terasa ader urge dalam diri ini utk berbelanja. Terasa di dalam hati ingin membeli beberapa benda dalam wishlist aku. Antaranya

  1. Xbox 360 elite – RM 1400+
  2. Ps3 – RM 1700+
  3. portable HD – RM 300
  4. processor baru dual core – RM 500+

Tapi persoalannya, camner ko nak pastikan aper ko berbelanja itu adalah worth the money u spend on it? How do u justify the reasoning?

Antara tips aku belajar adalah dengan meletak masa berpk according to the total price u about to spend

Example:

Xbox 360 elite (RM 1400) – maka dengan ini aku meletakkan 14 hari sebagai tempoh aku cool off. Method aku mudah, RM 100 = 1 hari .

Even though our gov encourage people to spend (dengan kurangkan potongan EPF), aku rasa kita harus berhati2 dengan setiap keputusan yang kita buat.

Mungkin cukai akan dinaikkan…anda tidak tahu aper yang akan berlaku di masa hadapan.
